These tools are designed to reduce the risk of damage or marring to components, surfaces and operator, when compared with similar traditional metal tools. No particular tool can be designated as perfectly suited to every situation by the manufacturers, as conditions of use are outside their control. Manufacturers also accept no liability for material or consequential damage or operator injury caused by inappropriate use of their products. Tools should be carefully selected on the basis of being a 'best fit' to a particular task and work environment. Any illustrations or descriptions provided by the manufacturers are for guidance only.

When using prying tools always use approved eye protection when working in close proximity to the work piece or in such a situation that damaged or dislodged components could be projected into the eyes. Tools are not deemed to be unbreakable, but individual forces at which the tools may snap or bend are many times those at which they are designed to be used. The manufacturers make derivatives of tools in numerous grades of high quality engineering plastic and can be consulted if there is a particular requirement for strength or hardness. In some applications it will be appropriate to use softer plastics and use of inappropriate grades of tools may cause marring or scratching to certain surface finishes including glass, plexiglass (acrylics) or painted surfaces. No certification or warranty is given for the use of any tools with high voltage or in explosive environments and whilst plastics are generally assumed to be non-sparking and non-conductive the use of the tools in any such conditions is is deemed to be outside the scope of any general warranty offered by the manufacturers.
